History
In 1989 the Barron County Adolescent
Health Council was established. Over the
next decade the Council expanded, and in
2001 became the Barron County Safe &
Stable Families Coalition.

Mission
The Barron County Safe & Stable Families
Coalition builds community partnerships to
promote family strength and stability for the
development of healthy communities.
Coalition focus areas:
* Reduce & prevent substance use among youth
* Collaborate & expand resources to support
families
* Provide awareness of community needs
* Develop healthy community environments

Funding
The Barron County Safe & Stable Families
Coalition receives annual funding from the
Department of Health & Human Services. The
Coalition is also funded though grants written
by coalition members and agencies. In 2009
our coalition received two sizeable grants.
The Strategic Prevention Framework State
Incentive Grant (SPF SIG) and the Drug Free
Communities (DFC) Support Program grant.
